An accessible space for crafters and designers to connect

For many years Ravelry has been the place for independent  designers, spinners and dyers to sell their amazing work.  Many designer's livelihood has relied on this site.  However, with the recent accessibility problems with Ravelry, many are choosing to find alternative platforms to sell their work either in place or in addition to Ravelry.  If you would like to support their efforts here Is a handy guide.  Please be aware many of the designers are in the process of making their work available on alternative platforms. Visiting designer's websites, signing up for their Newsletter and following on social media will help you stay up to date on their efforts AND show your support for their commitment to inclusion and accessibility.

A Bee in the Bonnet

Lauren Rad describes her Etsy Shop as simple, classic knitwear designs, and I agree.  A yummy collection of socks, gloves, hats, wraps, and other "small" knit patterns.   Lauren is also working on getting her work available on Payhip. ​

UK based designer, knitter, dyer and spinner Nadia Coxwell, is a global fiber artist. Nadia's focus is on sock knitting, and her classic designs incorporate lace and cables.

Aphaia

KM Bedigan is a prolific knitwear designer in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her background in archeology and history provides inspiration for her full line of knitwear designs.  (Be sure to check out the stuffed animals. They are adorable) Her patterns feature adventuresome construction technique, fresh modern colors, and texture.  ​

Her catalogue of classic cowls, hats and cardigans feature both color work and textured patterns. After burning out in the corporate world, Kathy Kemp left  for greener pastures. She now has a small farm and a  flock of primitive sheep. Kathy Kemp is a Jill of all Trades: spinner, dyer, knit designer and chainmaille maker. She also sells supplies for spinners and felters.  As a big and tall woman, she enjoys providing things that can be sized up or down easily, depending on taste.  Her work features bold colors and stunning geometric shapes.
